Here, let us share some pictures from that day…
The grounds… It’s nice to see the ring of pink out there on the turf! I thought it totally befitted the fashion theme for Ladies Day!

Let me share abit of background with you. Heard of the THE ASCOT RACECOURSE? Now the Ascot Racecourse is a very famous English racecourse. Located in the small town of Ascot, Berkshire, it was and still is used for thoroughbred horse-racing. Even today, it remains a famous English racecourse.
Recognized as one of the leading racecourses in the United Kingdom, the Ascot Racecourse hosts nine of the United Kingdom’s 32 annual Group 1 races. The course is closely associated with the British Royal Family, being approximately six miles from Windsor Castle, and owned by the Crown Estate.
The Ascot today stages twenty-five days of racing over the course of the year, comprising sixteen Flat meetings held in the months of May and October. The Royal Ascot Meeting, held in June, remains a major draw, the highlight being the Ascot Gold Cup.
This Royal Ascot Meeting is undoubtedly one of the most glamourous (horse racing) events held anywhere in the world. It is also most definitely one of the most social and colourful occasions in the British sporting calendar. Tens or thousands of people flock to the venue every year, and tickets are always sold out way ahead.
So if you’re planning to put on that outrageously glamourous hat for next year’s event, I’m not even sure if tickets are still available!
There are three important race days during the five-day Royal Ascot Meeting. The Royal Ascot Meeting always starts on a Tuesday and end on a Saturday. The three most important days of the entire race are Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The three major days are the Gold Cup on Thursday – better known as Ladies Day - an event with its quality of fashions, racing and pageantry that makes it an occasion not to be missed, along with Friday’s Coronation Stakes and Saturday’s fantastic Finale Day.
And oh, there’re some mighty interesting tidbits about the Royal Ascot Meeting on THIS SITE! For instance, it said, “Lobsters live in fear of the Royal Ascot meeting, with 11,000 of these crustaceans consumed over the course of the meeting. The lobsters are washed down by a staggering 185,000 bottles of champagne.”
Anyway, I think not many people would argue with if I were to say that Ladies Day is the highlight of the Royal Ascot Meeting. If only just for one day, Sa Sa is delighted that it is party to bring the magic of fashion, beauty and glamour to the turf in Malaysia!
